Its sort of its own little crag. On the north side, side opposite the creek, just before bridge creek campground, the second campground in the icicle. You can see the crack from the road, a little hard to see but when you do its obvious. There is another 10C offwidth around the corner to the left and a 11a finger crack/seam, I think which i haven't tried.
if you drive up the road and park on the back side of the '8-mile' formation (left side of the road), the block that has the carnival crack is on the opposite (right) side of the road. it is a 30' high black block and the crack is obvious. it lies uphill, a couple hundred feet through the trees. if you walk along the road a bit further you will be able to see it. good route.
