Has anyone been up/near Brohm Ridge lately? Conditions? I'd like to do the NE face of Garibaldi next weekend. Any beta would be appreciated.

I don't have an info for you on Brohm ridge (but good luck and have fun if you do go, and don't forget to post some information and pictures). The whole Canada section of this site is relatively new and there are some other sites that have had more Canadian content for a while, so you might not get too much information (yet). I do think that the nature of this site is such that in the long run, it will be the best source of information for this area.

As for the civility, well, this site seems to manage that better than many others. One thing that is often mentioned as a reason is that many people use their names rather than aliases, although that's partly a function of how the site started with a small group of people who knew each other. As it has grown, a higher percentage use aliases. Mostly though, the site has always been about the route information and pictures, with the forums as an extra, so the focus hasn't so much been on personalities and spray. Of course, there are some great personalities who make great contributions without being jerks.
