Heading to Spokane, WA for a quick business trip next week. Heard there was a small climbing/bouldering area near downtown called Deacon Hill. Not even sure if it is natural rock or an "outdoor gym". Just wondering if anyone has more info. Thanks!

You're thinking of Beacon Hill, which is the same place as Minnehaha. Yes, it's real rock, and yes, there's bouldering there. Once you get to Minne (follow the directions on this site), the bouldering corridors are pretty obvious. Marty Bland's "Inland Northwest Rockclimbs" shows a bunch of problems; if it's still in print, you can pick it up at Mountain Goat (downtown Spokane) or Mountain Gear (on Division, north of downtown Spokane and on way to crag).

Marty's book is still in print and can be gotten at both stores. Have fun. If you need a spot drop me a line.
