I recently climbed at Roadside (aka Highway) Rock at Banks Lake. Had the Weekend Rock book and use that info to climb the nice arete and the faces down low.
We also went up higher and climbed on an upper cliff facing the lake (away from the road). Had several bolted lines: what felt like a 5.9 arete on the far right, then a tougher line about 10 left of that, and then a very dirty seam closer to the left side of the cliff.
Anybody know the names and rating of these climbs?
Thanks

Rick La Belle has a new guide out "Rock Climbs of Central Washington"
covers Banks Lake real nice. Pick up a copy at Mountian Gear.

Actually, I live in AZ. I just climbed there for a day a few weeks back. I was asking here primarily because I don't have access to many WA area books here. Just curious, really.

Karl,

Don't know if you'll see this almost two months later.

I just moved to central Washington (from Arizona), and picked up La Belle's book last week. Strictly from looking at his guide and your comments I'd guess that you were on (right to left) Calanques *** 10a - 8 bolt arete, Money ** 10c - strenuous 7 bolt, and Whatever it Costs You ** 12a 7 bolts.

I'm looking forward to doing some routes at Banks.
