This makes up the main area of MRP. Everything from the well known "Gill Problem" (AKA Vast Understatement), to the V11 Reignition can be found in this area. All of MRP is bouldering with the exception of three top rope routes on the "Bolt Boulder". The rock is your typical Alabama Sandstone--good for toughening up those hands. Slopers are found throughout, along with some sketchy top-outs on a few problems. Everything can be found here from V0 to V11, however most problems are in the range of V4-V6.

Getting There

Park in the parking lot along the road at the back of the community center. Walk past the huge excavation site until you hit the obvious trail. If it's Fall/Winter--you'll be able to see the boulders of the "Grass Man" area.

This problem tests your core strength. You're never more than four feet off the ground. Traverse right to left. Start off with a heel-hook with your right foot. Start matched on a good jug, move left for a crossover with your right hand.V1 moves- but don't let this rating fool you. Pumpy, endurance, technique- all around spectacular problem....[more]   Browse More Classics in AL
