DescriptionThis is one of the best areas on Independence Pass for powerful, steep, sport climbing on great granite. Climbs range from 5.7 to 5.12+ with at least 1 project climb that may be harder. Most of the climbs fall in the 5.11 to 5.12 range. Getting TherePark at the Grotto Walls parking area and walk uphill along the road for about 300 yards. Look for a cairn marking a climber's trail on the left of the road. Following this trail, the first climb you will arrive at is Thug Route on the Outrageous Overhangs crag.
