Description
Sandstone area in Northern Bohemia. It belongs among the Elbe sandstone areas (the Labe-in German Elbe- river is not far from here).
Mostly traditional area with some better equipped (and mostly harder) sport lines.
Most of the climbing is on sandstone towers in a Valley covered by rocks on both sides.
Most important Ethics: No climbing on wet rock, No metal gear (excluding placed pro), No chalk (sometimes not respected).
Ostrov is a great high-lining venue.
There are many sandstone areas close by (Tisá, Labák, Bielatal....)- Climbing for more than a lifetime.
