Don't forget the other challenging part of route-finding here: just getting here! Where the "trail" swings under Brogan Spire (N of Mini Half Dome) in the lower left-hand corner of the picture, we scrambed through a 5.0-ish chimney/slab combo to avoid having to walk all the way down and around the lower rocks. Then head across the desert and around the big buttress to find the ground-level "cave" and the "alcove" start.
Route-finding for Dummies. Myself, sometimes being route-finding challenged when I'm at a new rock, I threw this map together after I spent an afternoon here to help others. Granted, you miss out on some of the adventure if you take too close a look at this, but hey, here it is if you want a hand. Thought it would be helpful to point out the two options for the second pitch.
