Kyle Hoyer kicking it back at the Cave on a wet De...

Description

This tucked away crag hosts Portland's highest concentration of difficult sport climbing. The routes range from steep to wildly overhanging. The climbing is very beta-intensive making the grades feel quite sandbag. Do not let this distract you, the movement its self is awesome. All of the routes require endurance, great route finding skills, and patience.

All of the Routes can be climbed all year round regardless of the weather.

Getting There

Due to access concerns, the handlers of this area have requested that the directions be removed from this site. I'll be sure to put the information back up when we can be confident that further access to this area won't be threatened.

Warm Up 5.12b  OR : Rat Cave
This route is considered the warm up at the Rat Cave. The crux comes at the beginning, a long lock off utilizing an undercling pinch to another pinch. The route follows a small left leaning channel to the first set of anchors (12a). Continue on and head straight up past another 2 bolts through more lock offs and pinches....[more]   Browse More Classics in OR

One small correction: The R.C seeps in the winter, so saying it is climable year-round is not quite correct. April-November is a likely scenario.

Two new lines are on their way up. One in between pissfire and the warm up. The other to the left of Tuffnerd.
