| Planning to head up in a couple weeks. It's been a dry year in the Sierra, curious to know how the Geraldine Lakes are holding up. I have also heard there is a tarn along the ridge. Thanks for any recent info ! | FLAG |

| Rob... What approach? When I have gone we never went to Geraldine Lakes. Walked to the Obelisk up Ranchera Creek, camped at the little medow you can see in the photo of the north side. Have fun, be safe. | FLAG |

| I can't imagine Lower Geraldine Lake ever dries up, it's fairly big. As for the tarn on the ridge, I don't know now, but it was there at the end of July. The trail will be very dusty. | FLAG |

| Much obliged sir, and great info on your Obelisk page. Hey Guyzo, that sounds like an interesting route. Went up to Hoffman Mtn from Rancheria TH last year in late Sept and did some routes that I guess Brutus & Em & co. put up. Looked over at the Obelisk though and it kind of called out to me.. | FLAG |

| Rob... When you top out on the Obelisk, you will have the best view- right up the Gorge of Dispair..... It should SCREAM at you. Have fun, be very carefull on the rap, it is pretty wild. Oh yea, one time I ran into a packer while near the Obelisk, she told me the best way, quickest way to get "here" is to hike in from thier pack outfit.... I think she said it was "woodchuck". I made a mental note that I would do some research next time heading out that way. Have fun, hope to see you around. | FLAG |
