Dog piss all over this post. This post is for an attempt to get my draws back, not a lecture. Im not sure who you people climb with that think its ok to take someone else gear. I've climbed with some great, and they will back me up. You don't have any respect for other climbers. Shame... We have a great community out here in Utah. Its funny how people from Colorado think they know it all out here. Ill be scared to climb out in Colorado. Ill write my name and number on all my gear. Still wouldn't wanna drop it on accident, it will for sure be gone even if i went back for it.

Anyways, im still looking for info on my draws. Don't need anymore dog piss on my post.

BTW... a little note on the Utah community. I left a pair of nice flip flops at a popular bloudering spot and went back 3 weeks later. They were still there, THANKS!

"I think you/all/us should stop implying this climbing community, because its not a community."

There might be a reason for this and it s because of this type of thought. You aren't part of a community when you dis people in a forum, you aren't part of a community if you take things that aren't yours no matter the circumstances(stealing), and you aren't part of a community if you offer no solutions or don't acknowledge a problem. And by its very definition this website is an online community.

Justin, it sucks you draws were taken by someone who probably has no basic moral principles. In the mean time you can borrow my draws any time to go send your route.

O.. St. Christian. nice of you to do such a thing, and let him borrow your draws. Just hope he doenst leave them um somewhere ;).

I can see your point its a community online.. in a way. But that doesnt mean, anything, really. You are unwillingly classifying people that climb part of a community.

thanks for the insite Cristian. I might have to take you up on your draws. Im surprised the person that took them didn't get zapped by the laser they have on the temple right out side of the canyon, ha.

What goes up must come down

I hear gangsters have learned about selling expensive climbing gear online. Check ebay and craigslist. They bought ascenders and are cleaning all hanging draws for profit.

why are you so psyched all the time when people's stuff gets taken?

you appear on every post like this laughing at others misfortune...

you don't possess the soul of a climber...jerk

by the way learn to spell...it makes you look ignorant.

Lucas,

You might "like" climbing, but others love it.

To me, and I'm sure other climbers too, a climber is someone who respects the land and other climbers. A climber doesn't destory another climbers experience.

The author of the new city or rocks guide book says it the best. 'There is only one ethic in climbing. It is to improve others peoples experience, in turn your experience will improve.'

Go ahead, climb, think of your self only, steal. In turn climbers wont accept you.

Lucas, You're doing really well on that "not growing up" goal of yours. Getting a bit bored with all that quality rock around Anchorage so you have to waste time posting about a Provo, Utah climbing area? Carefull or you're going to slow yourself down.

Justin, sorry about the draws. With the Wasatch Front areas so close by it is easy to get out after work for a few hours, and tempting to leave stuff up to come back in a day or two to finish up things, but with so many people up the canyons it seems like there is an increasing chance of having your gear go missing. I have heard of several similar incidents in the past couple of years, although stealing gear when someone is in the middle of bolting and cleaning a new route is pretty sad.

The Governator is here to mop things up

The etiquette in the wasatch front historically has been to leave draws alone if they are on a sport route. Especially on routes with long hikes to get to like rock canyon, chadbourne, or serendipity. Sadly this has been violated more and more and it shows by the likes of the gaping asshole who has replied on this thread. Its one thing to booty some trad gear but stealing draws of routes is shameless.

Greg D how can one bolt rock as you suggest is okay, and leave the rock as you found it?.

Point granted. This does sound like a conflict. What is most important IMHO is if fixed gear is absolutely necessay be discrete such as camoflouged bolts. A "leave not trace" or at least a leave almost no trace mantra benefits everyone.

Access is everyone's responsibility.

Chuck Norris can Divide by Zero

Lucas,

I am sorry your mom Sarah is out of town right now - I am sure you miss her - but you are over your data limit and this is going to cut into your gas money for the snow machines.

BTW, Can you see Russia from your favorite climbs?

Why do you guys swallow the hook every time? He has more time than the rest of you for trolling and harasing (he's 18). He lives in Alaska and likes to rock climb for gods sake. Pity, but don't encourage.

Around here, normal people don't consider a set draws left on a climb to be "crag booty". That's asinine.

It's stealing. Only a total jackass would steal someone elses stuff like that and there's no defense for it.
In south Utah County, I've seen several climbs with draws left on them all summer and noone takes them. Albeit, they're in kind of out of the way places.
I hope you run into the jackass with your draws and are able to get thme back, Justin. But the odds of that happening probably aren't very good.

One can only hope morons like Lucas are too busy trolling to vote, this country is in enough trouble.
Also, it doesn't matter whether your 50 or 18, stealing is stealing, and if you think it's OK, your showing yourself to be the self absorbed dip stick you are.
With any luck Putin will crash his jet into your house. You won't be missed. In fact it may be the revival of Glasnost we need right now.

Justin, if you drill a route down here on Mt. Lemmon no one will mess with your draws. We leave 'em up all the time.

I frigging hate thieves!! Sorry they ripped you off dude.
