Hello all

Snows is melting and the days are getting longer its time to plan the trip…

Got the all coveted kitchen pass this year (as one friend calls it) from my lovely wife and kids to go away for a couple of weeks and climb a wall yahooooo…..

My old partner got plans ….doing a A4 solo ……
My new partner as just bailed on me bummer …. something about aid climbing is too mechanical ….. and girl friend issues ….

Looking for a wall climber for early July to do a multi day wall in Yosemite…. …my route preference is the Nose but open to other walls…..

My wall experiences… lead aided up to C2+ …WFLT, PROW Column, Lurking Fear El Cap, Mental Blocks Daks NY, and Prow on Cathedral NH..

Last wall Lurking Fear Elcap. 2006

I can lead up to C2+ and free solid on 5.9s ….goal to be back leading 5.10 by Summer….
I’ve done some solo aid…

Don’t mind following harder stuff but not interested in pursuing very routes hard routes.

Any one of you interested …or knows of anyone …let’s blab….

I’m from Ottawa, Canada ….so not much aid climbing interest around here…..

...took a 20 ft'er about five minutes after this pic was snapped : )

Hey Dennis,
I just left the Valley; gave a go at the Schnoz. We made it to the Stove Legs, got stuck behind a slow party, didn't have a ledge, and decided to bail. I would like to go back but my partner's had enough of El Cap for the season. (He'd rather go crag at the Cookie Cliff again then deal with all the hauling, lowering out, traversing, swings, etc.) Maybe we could team up. I'd be willing to stick it out to the summit or until we're drinking our own urine, whichever comes first.
Best,
Matt

Hi Matt

hey thanks for your reply

sorry I took so long getting back to you I just noticed that all of the posted messages from mountain project were being flagged as junk mail and moved to the junk folder...

to bad about your Nose trip, sounds like you put a good effort into it only to be slowed down. bummer

Matt with regard to teaming up for the Nose this July.
I'm presently in preliminary planning stage with another climber that had replied to me a few week ago.

If it does not work out with this person, I'll contact you to see if your still interested......

cheers
Dennis

Wow! The wife gave you two weeks off. You must've been married for a long time. The most I'll probably get off this summer is maybe a week. She climbs too, so if I ever do a wall again, she requires that she's also in the Valley to monitor my progress make sure I'm not rescue bait. With a two and a four year old, that's just not going to happen.

Anyways, enjoy. Be ready for the crowds if you do the Nose. Another option might be the Triple Direct, the bottom half of which I've done when climbing the Shield. Seems alright but you miss the Stovelegs and bivying at El Cap Tower.
