I am looking to make my first trip to Yosemite this weekend and was wondering what is the best bet to get on for this weekend?

I would like to do some 4-8 pitch low end moderates (5.7-.9) just to get my feet wet.

Any suggestions?

Also, is anything in Tuolumne open? If so what?

Thanks!

sounds to me like you want to go to manure pile buttress. Church bowl or royal arches are options. If its warm you could start up DNB or E. butt of Middle cathedral. If you are ready for something harder - cookie cliff, el cap base routes, or serenity crack.

I noticed that no one mentioned the Central Pillar of Frenzy. Not on SuperTopo either. It is most excellent! this time of year, it might have a big snow bank at its base, but that will just help get you up past the ugly flare. Climb at least the first 5 pitches, then rap.

Pitch 5 looks bad from below, but don't let looks fool you; it is as good as the rest.
