| Are there any access issues with table mountain? Right at the first gate there is a spray-painted "keep out" sign, whats the deal? | |

| Jailhouse Rock is at Lake Tulloch near the bridge (about 15 miles before Table Mountain). I have climbed the Grotto, cool chimney stuff and the back side of Table Mountain. Back side was loaded with poison oak. The oil off the plant was nearly impossible to get rid of. Ended up having to throw out my chalk bag but was able to salvage my backpack after several washings. Lava rock and sharp, hands were shredded but a good day nonetheless. I slathered them with Neosporin and that helped. Nice thing about the back side is no one was there, had the place to ourselves. Cool approach walking across the top of Table Mountain. Don't let the keep out sign stop you. . . oh yeah first time I went there it was turkey season and I could hear gunfire. . .that was a little scary. | |

| The 'keep out no trespassing sign' is a reminder to stay on the road. There is a legal easement on the dirt road between the two gates. However, if you step off the road, you are trespassing.
All we have to do is respect the land owner by closing the gates and staying on the road, and all will be well. | |

| Please respect the private property and keep the gates closed. The land owners have been more than generous. Keep to the established approaches and keep it low key. | |
