my name is steve. just moved out here from the east coast a little over a week ago. looking for partners. i live in davis - working on a phd here (paleolithic archaeology/paleoanthropology).

been climbing over 10 years. rock (sport, trad, aid), ice, alpine, boulders, whatever. have plenty of gear (minus portaledge and crashpad) and car. little bit out of shape but correcting that at the moment. usually leading in the 10/11 range, but backing off that a little bit until i'm back in shape, and until i get my bearings around here, especially in the valley. not too much aid experience but solid with the basics. been up some shorter stuff but no (successful) wall experience. not super strong on ice, have led a bit of 4, not much, but have climbed plenty of easier alpine ice.

the gunks has been my home for the most part. have climbed at cathedral, cannon, mt washington, ragged, and a bunch of other spots in the northeast. been down south a bunch to tennessee wall, foster falls, hp40, looking glass, linville gorge, etc. spent some time out in hueco, moab, indian creek, zion, and red rocks. caught a glimpse of squamish, smith, and some other northwest stuff last spring. closer to (new) home, i've been to josh once for 10 days or so, and the valley once for about a week....

other than that been down to potrero once, spent some time climbing in chamonix over the past few summers, got about 10 days of rock in south africa a couple years ago...and some other stuff here and there

looking to climb on weekends mostly - can get out from thursday afternoon until monday morning/afternoon on many weekends. looking to go anywhwere: bay area, lovers leap, south lake tahoe, cascades, and of course yosemite - would love to do a wall before winter weather comes, and maybe grab some classic sierra ridges before winter as well - guess that doesnt leave much time, but what the hell...after that i figure lovers leap and sugarloaf and some other tahoe stuff will be the place to be....

thinking about indian creek/moab for thanksgiving...if not then josh or valley??? if its nice...

some desert climbing sometime during last three weeks of december for sure....

will get out to the gym during the week, here in davis, and maybe in sacramento once in a while

drop a line....i'm down to climb with anyone....of any experience....

thanks a lot
peace

I live in Davis too, and have most of October free while I wait for a job to start so if you ever need a partner let me know. I would love to get a wall in weather permitting.

If I haven't managed to get out of Davis I also go to the rocknasium a couple times a week so drop me a line if you need a belay.

I just spent the summer in Yosemite and I'm dying to get back on another wall there, or some long free route. I live in Sacramento and just started school at Davis. I got half way up Gold Wall in the Ribbon Falls Ampitheater and half way up the Prow too. I'd really like to top out on both of those. I have some weekends left before I have to start working. This Friday I'd like to get down there and I have until Monday. Hopefully I'll have at least one day off through the winter when I can get up to Tahoe. I'd like to do some mountaneering in the Sierras this winter. I've never done any winter climbing and I want to get some experience. I'm gonna start climbing at the Sacramento Pipeworks soon. Drop me a line.
