It’s time to start making plans for the Bear Valley Adventure Sports Festival coming to the Sierra Nevada Range this August 16-17, 2008. This two-day multi-sport gathering celebrates the thrill of human powered recreation by combining competition, education and community. Featured activities include rock climbing, mountain biking, road cycling, disc-golf, trail running and flatwater kayaking. It doesn't matter whether you "pull, pedal or paddle" regularly, or simply want to try a new outdoor sport in a safe and supportive setting, the Bear Valley Adventure Sport Festival has something for everybody, including the kids.

• 3rd Annual Bear Valley Bear Valley Boulder Bash : Northern California's premiere outdoor bouldering contest; 100+ problems; V0-V6+, 5 divisions; cash prizes.
• "Grizzly Challenge" Mt. Bike Race : All terrain mountain bike race. 8.75 miles/lap; 1-3 laps; 3 divisions; 1500 feet up&down/lap; cash prizes
• Ebbetts Pass Century : 101 miles; 12,800 feet of climbing; 1st 100 registration get automatic entry into Death Ride 2009.
