| The Access Fund has been trying to help initiate the startup of a local climbing organization in the Bay Area. They recently got one started in the Sacramento area. There was an initial meeting at Ironworks in Berkeley last month, and we're trying to get more people to come because we want more voices involved.
Access Fund doesn't have any formal chapter system or anything, so in the end this local climber's organization can stand on it's own and determine it's own mission. If this is something you might be interested in please come and participate. We are still hashing out why we might need an organization and what kind of things we would do.
The group thus far has discussion/info space on google groups: http://groups.google.com/group/bay-area-climbers
The next meeting is: August 28 at Great Western Power Company in Oakland, time TBD (probably 7ish? or later we need to give enough time for north and southbay folks) http://touchstoneclimbing.com/pdf/gw_calendar.pdf | |
