Shady almost all day...usually freezing in the winter (when the west face is in prime season), great in the summer. This side of Castle Rock is a bit steeper than the west face and is more featured, although the rock quality isn't quite as good. Room for more lines.
The base does have some poison oak, but the bases of the routes are largely oak-free, and it's certainly not unclimbable as the comment below suggests.
Follow the base of Castle Rock around the corner to the left if approaching from the west face. Can also approach directly by continuing up the trail ~200' past the descent to the west face.

The base below this whole face is a Poison Oak garden. I'd go so far as to say it is unclimbable without someone going in and doing a little work.
