Hello MP people! I'm just driving thru on a cross-country drive of a lifetime as I move to the West coast all the way from Virginia.

I have some outdoor experience and would like to check out the sandstone in the hot hot desert! Would you be the one to take me out?

Since I'm new I only lead 5.8 however I can follow about 5.11a. I just have basic gear: harness, shoes, belay device, runners and a couple locking biners. I know how to clean a route too!

Also, I just got here less than an hour ago and need advice on a cheap place to pitch a tent and best place for local beer??

Where are you? The southern Utah desert is the size of the larger states on the east coast.
