Great photos. I am pretty sure that is Vallecito peak in the center and Taos Mountain on the right. Lake fork (12,881') is north-east of Vallecito (12,643') and is likely blocked in this photo (you might be seeing snow-covered peak 12,819' next to Taos Mountain). These peaks are connected by a beautiful ridgeline separating the wilderness from the pueblo drainages. Glad you got to visit. Did you try Vista Verde or Utopia? Cheers.
Thanks Mike! While we were climbing we were trying to decide what peak was what. I knew Wheeler was blocked from view but didn't realize Vallecito Peak was the prominent looking peak blocking the view of Lake Fork Peak. Thanks for setting me straight! Unfortunately our time was short on Sunday because it got pretty chilly once it got shady so we only got to check out Dead Cholla Wall. But I'm super psyched to check out the work you and the others have done at the neighboring areas too--we had a blast!
