Named for the side dish at the Faralito restaurant in the town of El Rito, Refritos is an alternate first pitch for (06a) Chile Verde , and it joins that route at Juniper Ledge midway up the cliff. It follows an obvious black streak, with sparse pro but fun climbing and fewer bushes than nearby climbs on this cliff. Don't fall. Follow the 2nd pitch of Chile Verde to top out.
FA note: Gary and Lynn Clark gave names to all the routes at El Rito Trad, however, the cliff was visited before the Clarks frequented this area. No one really knows which lines were climbed, though.
Location
This climb takes on the black streak, which is almost directly in front of you as you reach the cliff from the approach trail.
Protection
Nuts and cams to 2". A 2-bolt anchor is found on Juniper Ledge.
