Brad Ellen raps in on Runnel Runner.

Description

Runnel Runner is an excellent alternative to getting off the Ramp's summit and egressing from the Rudder and Sick Bird climbing area.

From the exit gully for the Ramp, locate a diagonal up and right traversing 18" foot ledge with a small pine tree (see photo), directly across from the Sick Bird, 606, 505, Wall. Gain the first bolt and then climb the runnels up to the top, passing two more bolts and a tree for protection to a 2 BA.

Location

Approach: Hike down to the Y intersection and hike west from the saddle and veer to the south , staying below the summit of the Point by 60-80 feet and locate some cairns on the east face of the Point. Scramble to the farthest south and east to locate the Bolted rap anchors of Runnel Runner (the exit route). A 60m rope is mandatory to reach the ground.

Protection

3 bolts, 1 long (48") runner for the upper tree if you don't want to run it out.
