DescriptionMost northern notch in N.H. Very narrow and very small. Getting ThereGetting there depends on where you are coming from. The nearest town is Colebrook. The Notch road is Route 26. There is a resort hotel named the Balsams you may stay at because it is long drive from anywhere unless you live in this community. Parking and accessibility to climbing area is conveniently off the road. There is only one ice flow I am aware of. The flow is thick with a long ice/snow ramp below it. There shouldn't be any waiting in line to do ice climbing in this area. The ClassicsMountain Project's determination of some of the classic, most popular, highest rated routes for Dixville Notch:
Umbrella Route WI2+ Steep Snow Ice, Snow, Alpine, 1 pitch, 300 feet, Grade II
Umbrella Pillars Route WI5+ Steep Snow X Ice, Snow, Alpine, 1 pitch, 300 feet, Grade II
