Hello all, I just moved to Cali from Illinois and am in serious need of some climbing. I am working in Barstow for the next week or two and would like to get out to NJC some day after work either this week or next. I'm looking for at least one other person to climb with - I've got all the necessary gear for sport climbing so bring a harness and shoes and we'll be set. I'm not that experienced with trad, but am trying to learn so if you're willing to teach a rookie I'd be down with that. I'd be willing to carpool if you're in Barstow or along the way to the crag. also, I can make it out to J-Tree or Tahquitz, on the weekends, but don't have any trad gear and only a few trad leads under my belt.

What grades are you interested in leading in sport, and what grades are you interested in getting into in trad? I may be up for going out there this Sunday (May 27).

Update: made plans to go to JTree on Sunday the 27th. Will be climbing at New Jack on Monday the 28th if you're interested.

Hey Nelson, sorry I missed your message. I don't check my e-mail or mountainproject very often. Call/text is probably the best way to get a hold of me. As far as grades go, my onsight level is 5.11 for sport and I've never lead a trad route harder than 5.7 so something along those lines would probably be good. Let me know if you're still interested in climbing. I would definitely be up for a weekend at Jtree.
