An area on MPers personal account pages that lists their credentials and contributions to the community could be an interesting addition, like a donor heart on your ID: Access Fund Member, AAC member, official guide certs, med certs, etc.
This site is a great resource, thank you all for your extensive labors, Admin.

This has been an issue Ive been experiencing first hand and am glad to see it is being kicked around. I dont think my experience is unique her but Ill share it as feedback.

I created crag pages close to a decade ago and almost forgot I had done so till I got a "flame-like" comment from a guy who thought I was dissing the area where he had been putting up routes. We worked it out but it all stemmed from my original description of the area. The area had changed significantly over 10 years and I had kind of forgotten Id ever put it on MP! There is no easy way for creators of content to view lists of crags, routes, etc that they created to aid in maintaining them. If you forgot you created an area, you wont remember until someone contacts you. If such functionality is worth your while I think it would be great in conjunction with your idea which seems like a very wiki-ish solution which I really like.

Thanks again for all you do!

How about a way to give a route two (or more) ratings, which depend on how you do the route? Here's an example: The route "Wildest Dreams" at Index, WA, has a crux third pitch rated 12b. But most parties just aid this very short pitch to be able to do the other, very nice, long moderate pitches. So, it would be nice if it could be rated 12b OR 11a, A1. That way, a person looking for a multipitch 11a route would find it easily. As it is now, if they just look at the listing of routes, they wouldn't even know about the nice pitches they could be enjoying.

I second that! Great idea, Jon!

Jesse, just go to your personal page and you can see all your contributions listed. Go to the bottom if you want to check up on your oldest ones.

Click your name>contributions>areas

I always thought that a notes section would be cool! Something only you can see that could work on the app. For example rack beta for that tricky gear route in eldo that you don't want to spray to the world about, but you'd like to save notes electronically.

I'll second that.

In addition to the to-do list, I would like a to-visit list for areas instead of routes

I think this applies to so few routes that it's better to just add them as two separate routes.

The most recent ratings update broke how ratings are displayed throughout the iPhone App.

Arg! I've fixed it, but those data packages are the hardest thing in our system to update. It will take about 36 hours to do them all. So after finishing your turkey, toss the old data and download new packages.

Thanks.

Right -- in the case of Wildest Dreams, the pitches are:
1. 10+ trad
2. 11- sport
3. 12b trad or easy aid
4. 10+ trad
but someone looking for trad up to 10+ or sport up to 11- would be unlikely to find it.

Other examples I can think of:

Borderline (Squamish): Gear protected climbing up to 11c, or gear to 10b and bolts to 10d, depending on which variation you take on p2.

Japanese Gardens, House of the 7th Bobcat, Davis-Holland, Mortal Coil, Freeway, Grand Wall (Index, Index, Zeke's, Squamish, Squamish): These all have first pitches or sub-pitches that lower the difficulty by at least a full number grade.

How to implement? I don't know. The real thing I'd look for is how well such a feature would help searchability.

Thanks, Eric

Thanks for fixing it Nick!

Any word on the ability to have our individual assigned star ratings appear in lists of routes and not just the individual route's page?

I'm still waiting for this feature as it's an easy way to see which routes one has been on already when returning to a crag.

Updates only pull in new routes/photos. You need to delete the area and re-download it.

After more poking around, I realized I fixed it for some cases but not others. Rebuilding all the data packages again...

Ratings are still broken when you view "ticks" but seem fixed in other places.
