| We've added some tools to make forum posts (and all other text areas, such as route & area descriptions) a little better. You'll now see a line up of tools above the text edit box that allow you to insert photos, videos, links, and some formatting features. When adding photos, you can now add them directly to a message (you used to have to upload them somewhere else and then link to it).
| The new toolbar, and the new style for showing photos in messages. Submitted By: Nick Wilder on Nov 13, 2009
| A few other changes:
- Photos are now shown in our standard format and show the title and contributor.
- Photos link to the proper photo page if you want to see comments, browse related photos, etc.
- Videos from YouTube or Vimeo are now shown in-place in a message (you can see the actual video instead of a link).
- Trip Reports is now open as a new forum. With the improvements to photos and videos, we hope to get some good stories!
- For Forum Posts (including Trip Reports), you can now include a "Location". So if your post is about a route or area, use this new feature. In the future, we will be highlighting some Trip Reports in certain locations.
Here's a sample video:

| Great update. However has there been any progress on including EXIF data into photo files. Just quickly glanced at all of the photos uploaded in the last couple of hours and it appears that EXIF data is still being stripped from the photo. I know I would find this useful to store date/times of photos as well as any relevant copyright info, photo specifics, etc. Thanks again for continually improving the site. | FLAG |
