There is a new climbing gym opening up in Boston called The Rock Spot. It is going to offer some amazing top-out bouldering and rope climbing. It's in the Dedham area, south side of Boston. Easily accessible via train, close to the 93/95 junction as well. We're also looking for staff. Check out the website:

Wow it looks to be good size.
I will be in the Boston area @ X-Mass time. will the gym be open by then ?
If so perhaps I will come check you out. My nephew has expressed a desire to give climbing a try and wants me to take him to a gym or local crag(weather permitting, but I doubt that).

'N will yah have any cracks for the old farts ?

We should be open near xmas time, we still don't have a specific date yet. Inspectors can be tedious.....It's a close call, if you're around after the holiday your chances are better...

no cracks here....unfortunately...but we do have one at our other location, the Rhode Island Rock Gym.

p.s. i ain't no old fart and i like cracks too :)

Cool @ possibly being open.
My dad grew up in Deadham and he said he can show me a couple little bouldering areas in the woods there. So maybe we will come sniffing around for a look even if you aren't open yet.

NO CRACKS ?

All that real estate and NO CRACKS ?

Inside Corner. I dropped my chalk ball right before the crux. just my luck. you can see it right above my left foot.

I love the fact that you can top out, and it looks like you can walk around then. Is this correct?? If so this will save some knees.

I wish the gym I go to had that. But it doesn't so we just have to let go and drop when you get to the top of the problem.

Hello Everyone!

The gym is coming along nicely. We've had a couple open houses and wanted to let you know about some this weekend. There is one on Saturday January 10th from 4-7 and another on Sunday the 11th from 12-3. The address is 67 Sprague St. Boston, MA. 02136. Make sure you use Boston and not Dedham if you're gonna use gps or similar service. If you put Dedham you'll end up at some guys house...

Also, check out our website, www.rockspotclimbing.com/ and sign up for our newsletter to stay in the loop about when we're opening and the sweet specials we'll be rolling out.

Safe Climbing!
