| Greetings. I have been taking some newbies to the Tuna and Chips wall at the first pullout. I like this area a lot because it has a 5.4 lead (Chips and Salsa) up to bolts above .7 -10a TR's, and it has a short approach. Can you guys recommend any other cool beginner areas where we can start people on some 5.4ish TR's and then slide them over onto the .7's etc? Thanks! C. | |

| A second for moderate mecca, especially if you're looking specifically for trad. In the basin you also have Jabba the Hutt, which has a 5.4 and two 5.8s (also trad), and Cut Your Teeth Crag a sport slab with easy to access toprope anchors (a 5.5, 5.6, two 5.7s and a 5.8+). If you're looking beyond Calico, Ragged Edges in Willow Springs has a large selection of trad climbs from 5.5 to 5.8 also. | |

| i recently took some friends from out of town and my 9 year out to the panty wall for the first time, thats the best spot, i think so far for new climbers the panty wall has excellent 5-7ish climbs that arent that high and have anchors to top rope ,and up around the corner their is a nice 5-6 arete that is cool, the panty wall has really good 5-7 -5-8ish stuff. i dont know my boy climbs the 5-7's their and has a blast. their super easy , i think any thing under 5-6 isent even climbing its angled walking and would be a waste of time even for new climbers..get out their and throw them on some good rock....oh yeah panty wall is first pullout . peace, rex | |

| Panty Wall is good, but you have to keep an eye on people. There is a bit of a drop-off that many people tend to forget about. Take appropriate precautions and the area is great.
