Description

Undeveloped. Some good potential for a few hard, high problems. Kind of hard to get to, but if more people start developing here, could become really good.

We have gone here a couple times and cleaned a couple of routes up. It takes some patience and willing to get dirty. But once you pull the choss of, you usually find really solid rock.

Getting There

There could be a few different ways to get here. If you drive to Carson City from Reno you will come to pleasant valley just before washoe valley. Look north towards the new brdige and just to the right and up you can see a buch of big boulder's. Don't approach them from pleasant valley though.

From Reno, head east on 431(Mt Rose Hwy). From the intersection of 395/431, drive for 3.2 miles. Take a left onto NO 49 County Road. It's a dirt road and you will need 4wd. Head south for about 1.7 miles. At this point you can either take a left or continue straignt up to the radio tower. Go up the hill to the Radio Tower. When you get there you will find a gate. If the gate is open, you can continue driving towards the freeway for another 100 yards or so, then you have to park.

At this point you will find yourself on a ridge looking down at pleasant valley and the new Freeway. Head down the hill towards the south east and come to a flat area. Continue southeast, over the next ridge and you should find the boulders.

Refer to the map at right. I have put the gps coordinates on the parking spot. If you go any of the boulders, their gps location will be listed.
