How long is the approach to this place (if you drive a 2-wheel drive)?

From the nearest parking area next to route 160, it will take just over an hour to walk to Windy Peak. If you have a 4 x 4 it's possible to drive down some tracks to a closer parking area. It's a worthwhile walk-in though, as there's some quality climbing to be had - Jackass Flats, Diet Delight and Blockade Runner etc. Having climbed these classics, Penny Farthing and myself had the time to do the first ascents of "Hugh's Banner" and "Boobs, Bikes & Beer". A grand day out!
