Birdhunter is sort of around the corner to the left. What you are looking is closer to Paiute Pillar I believe. I agree with the views up there however. A really cool and special place.
This gives you a GREAT view of pitches 5-9 of Bird Hunter! It leaves the top of the big pillar (as does Paiute Pillar, around it's pitch 5) and heads up to the dihedral of the left edge of the beehive, the shoulder of rock that dominates the upper center of Gigi's photo. (Paiute crosses to the left of that dihedral).
Once you've hiked up Juniper Canyon beyond the red dirt hill, it's like being in Paradise ... you regret having to go back to the world at the end of the day.
Karsten's photo of Rainbow Wall/Sauron's Eye gives you more of an overview of Bird Hunter, and also gives you more of an idea of what's going on at the bottom of Paiute Pillar.
Are there any routes on this aspect of the Rainbow Wall? It looks like there is potential for something big and terrifying, or maybe several somethings...
Yeah, there are only two routes on the far right side of the Rainbow Wall, as far as I know. That white rock can sometimes be rather soft and loose, though ...
On this side of the wall are Paiute Pillar, Birdhunter buttress, brown recluse, and a Layton Kor route that no one knows where it goes. Last year while rappeling brown recluse we saw some medievel looking pins that are probably the Kor route but I have asked around and no one really knows where that route goes.
