i had an armatron (as pictured) when i was little. i think it still might be in my parent's attic somewhere. many fond memories.

however, from speakign with the FA, i believe the route is named for some resemblance to a difference model (also sold under the name armatron) that looked more like a robot than a robot arm.

Try googling "mobile armatron" and you'll find a photo of the variety that can move too. You can buy 'em real cheap on eBay too!

I had this toy too, and it was AWESOME! Loading my Tonka trucks was never so much fun! =)
