BETA PHOTO: Two Fools Chute West wall of Ice Box Canyon, well ...
Description
The Buffalo wall sits majestically at the top of the north fork of Ice box canyon. The Buffalo wall is second only to the Rainbow wall for true big wall status in Red Rock. The wall has only 2 reported routes, and both have seen few ascent's. This is primarily due to our lazy nature ie; it's got a big approach! The route is named for it's appearance from a distance, driving west on Charleston Blvd (morning is the best time) it truly resemble's a large buffalo.
Getting There
The traditional way to approach is from the Ice box canyon trail head. The start of which is fairly flat on good trail. However you eventually drop into the drainage and begin boulder hoping. When you reach the fork in the canyon head UP the north fork. This will entail lot's of climbing and scrambling. If you are carrying haul bags you'll want to drop them in an obvious ampitheatre where a fixed rope may or may not still exist(this rope IS NOT in good shape DO NOT ascend it) then climb up the gully to the north until you can scramble back into the main drainage. descend back the the top of the Ampitheatre where you left your load, there is an anchor here to haul/ fix a rope. From here continue up the slabs following the path of least resistance. There will be at least 1 more section of 5th class climbing. There used to be a fixed rope here(questionable anchor and rope) but don't count on it!!This approach is worse than the one guarding the rainbow wall!!
Rumor is that a better way to approach is by hiking up the backside, from the rocky gap road, and rappelling the wall. I haven't done it, and don't know anyone who has, but it SOUNDS like a good idea!!!
You can scramble up Two Fools Chute and aviod all class 5 and 4 climbing to the base of Buffalo Wall. This chute is well before where the trail descends into the wash.
Two fools chute huh??? Sounds cool...how's about some more info??? Maybe a photo?

Hiked up there today. Recon hike, no bags or pack to speak of. The way I went involved lots of 5th class. Started up at 20' piece of fixed rope, fixed to single KB. Hauling would be shizer, I would shuttle loads, imho.
