Easy, and short approaches to the Ragged Edges area, The Childrens Crag , and Hidden Falls Wall; easy to mod. trad, and some hard sport/trad. Plenty of open, flat spaces nearby base for kids to play.
Willow Springs is one of the most family friendly areas within the Red Rock scenic loop; with picnic tables, outhouses, and short, fun hikes for the family/ kids ie, The Lost Creek Children's Discovery Trail(seasonal waterfall) or La Madre Spring (year round spring) I took my friend's 4 year old son, and many other kids of all ages on these hikes. They hiked these trails without any problems, and all loved it, especially the water features! They also enjoyed "hanging out" and playing on boulders, and in a cave in the picnic area. FYI: there is a popular bouldering area near picnic tables.
There are also other climbing crags, and longer hikes in the vicinity of Willow Springs which will work well for groups of people with different abilities, and interests; Willow Springs is a good base for any family or "group." | |
