Help me out. Any ideas?

How does "Rappel" sound? I want to say "Off Rappel!" when he jumps on the bed!!

Would "Petzl" be cheesy?

Also thinking "Cam".

Whatever the name is, has to work bellowed out loud without embarrassing you or the dog. Cam is good, but usually feminine. How about Locker? At least one MPer might approve. Give him some ear scratches from the old lady! The dog, that is. : )

You know, he really kinda has a top hat and tails look (think Fred Astaire and Ginger), maybe he'll have great rock dancing skills!

Frank or Fred. Keep it simple. Petzl is corny.

Here is a recent thread with links to more threads. Nice looking dog you got there.

How about Whipper, or Whip for short.
Just don't whip whipper.

Reviewing those older threads was fun.... I like the idea of "Prussik" because I really like friction knots, but actually I just thought of a really good one-- "Friction!"

Might be slightly odd -- but it's pretty cool though ?

Believe me, I'm tempted to go with "Tri-Cam" and just call it a day... I LOVE tri cams.

How about Purcell when you are formal? Then he could be Puck. Mmmm...could be a problem.

jumar hanging at the crag.(animal abuse) This is Jumar.

Originally he was going to be Jumar, Piton, or PoopTube.
Jumar sounds better if I have to call for him across camp.

Dex is ready to drive at a moments notice... Not a good D.D. in squirrel country. This one is Dex. Short for Dexter because he is part serial killer (Pitbull/chihuahua)

I still think a dog named Pooptube would be fitting.

A climbing-themed name will go great with your locking carabiner tattoo and the bootied cam off your rear view mirror that just punched a hole through your windshield!

I suggest Take!

Holy NO! I was going to suggest "take!"

Don't forget the climbing holds on the outside of the van

Do you Boulder?
If so, I'd go with "spot."
Better start fattening/softening him up.

Obviously you should name him Rock. Everybody at the crag will get a kick out of it when you call for him as loud as you can. Trust me, this will not get old.

How about Moki? As in moki steps, the hand and foot holds the old time native Americans carved into sandstone faces to access the cliff dwellings. My mother in law came up with that one. Next time we get a jack Russell though, I'm calling it pogo.

This one is perfect!

I suggest "juxtaposition"

Congrats on the new best friend, may you have many good years together.

I think Whipper is the best!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
