Here are the results as of now.

I'm just copying and pasting, nothing more. Here is the survey if you haven't taken it. Click Here to take survey

The results are all from unique IP addresses, while possible to vote twice, it would be difficult.

Maybe this could be a reason for Ken to take a moment and reflect on how he thinks he's viewed and how he really is.

I know I'm very new to this website (only maybe 4 weeks now) but is something like this really necessary???? This whole thing just seems so childish. I don't know any of you in person, though hopefully once I get settled out in CO I will, I guess it just begs me to wonder why all the butting of the heads????

With all the amazing climbing you guys have at your fingertips what would make individuals want to bicker with one another??? lol hell go climb!!!!!

oh and dont vote me off the island PLEASE :)

Perhaps my opinion does not take prescedent b/c I have not been here long enough to understand the roots of where these arguements stem from.

I believed it until I saw that no one voted for me...now I think it's gotta be BS. :)

Bob, Not sure what you are referring too here...

Anyhow, yes this is in bad taste to say the least.

It might be funny and intended to be funny but it doesn't come over that way.

I would agree Bob that the quote is a contender for the title "biggest bunch of bullshit" as is this thread and most threads that make it past page 2 or 3.

But I would argue that there are 100's of posts that are in the running for this title as well. Seems like a bold statement compared to how much BS exists on this site on a daily basis.

I came to the site at a time when I was nursing serious injuries and couldnít do much outdoors - with actual people. I had convinced myself that being honest and fair-minded were enough and that online folks would have to just deal with their personal insecurities about what I had to say. I guess the lack of face-to-face contact, in conjunction with being kept away from the sport that I love, had made me hard... Well, that has changed. Several events have occurred over the past five months that have finally made me realize that you folks arenít just words in a topic. Before I go any further, I want to offer you my sincere apology for that. It was my shortcoming not to consider peopleís feelings when calling them out on issues. I forgot to treat you like human beings, and the result was that my messages, regardless of relevance, were being rejected because of my lack of tact... I can be a real piece of work when I get on my soapbox... Again, my humble apologies to everyone, for the protracted attitude. I have been walking around with a pretty big thorn in my foot since I got injured...

Ken, when you wrote these words back in Februaury and everyone was congratulating you for turning over a new leaf, I knew this was all a joke. I knew you'd be back to your old ways in no time.

You came out of nowhere and started telling people how to behave, and I have no clue what compelled you to feel that it was your place to do so. I get the sense that maybe you feel qualified and entitled to tell people what to do because you are a senator. If that is the case, then you need to understand that your political station holds no weight with at least a few of us in here.

Ken Cangi wrote:
Like I've said too many times to remember, I pull no punches with people. If you are unfair to another in here, or insult and accuse others gratuitously, you will hear from me, and it won't be subtle. You will always get the consideration of knowing exactly where you stand with me.

Ken, may others express concerns to you about the way you treat people? Or would that be "telling you how to behave?"

You are dead right my political activity is irrelevant. Let's not bring it up again. So, back on subject, what entitles you to comment on the behavior of others? Is that prerogative yours alone? Or may others let you hear, unsubtly, when they think you cross lines of civility? And how can they approach that task without "telling you how to behave?"

Shawn,

Why is it not apparent to you that I welcome the opinions of others. I even go as far at to champion their rights to those opinions even when they are negative and directed toward me. How you missed that is beyond me. If you bothered to read my posts in here, you would see that I even protected John's right to conduct his survey.

That having been said, when you falsely accuse someone of something or unfairly attack someone's character, you will hear from me. You know this up front because I have made it clear, so why does it surprise you when I do it?

I am tired of passive/aggressive people like you taking underhanded potshots and then acting indignant because I am forthright in my honest opinion of something. Being honest doesn't make me an asshole. You just call me an asshole because you don't like the message. I sleep well at night because I know that I am not full of shit, and the people who appreciate me do so because they know that I am not full of shit.

Why am I so important to you that you feel compelled to point what you don't like about me, on a regular basis? I have my ideas about it, although I will refrain from being presumptuous. I'll leave it to you to answer the question for yourself.

I haven't met you yet, so I have reservations about passing judgment, although I would say you aren't someone who I would invest any real time into. I think your style is cowardly, and I don't respect it. I am still willing to engage you in discussion, but I do so baring those feelings in mind.

BTW, regarding comments about your political status, or anything else, for that matter, don't tell me what I can and cannot talk about. Lay off of the disciplinarian trip and we'll probably get along just fine.

Peace

This is hilarious. Who says anyone has the right to "vote someone off the island"? Personally, I enjoy reading Kens comments. He is straighforward, to the point, no bullshit, and opinionated. So what? If you cant take it, grow a pair and move on. Just because you dont agree with him doesnt mean you have the right to chastise him. But it does often incite some good discussions, which is what the forums are all about, discussion. I have been coming to MP for a while and I dont comment often, but I read the forums mainly for the comedy factor and Kens humor is often so obvious that my nearly dead grandma could see it. Keep up the good work Ken. People need to stop taking themselves too seriously.

Hmm....I must be desensitized because no one, and nothing on this site really annoys or upsets me for more than a millisecond. Maybe if silly things were said, or done to me in the flesh, perhaps then I would react to it; positively or negatively. I'm sure most of you guys are pretty tolerable in person; maybe not so much on a long drive in the small confines of a vehicle, or cooped up in a tent in a storm, but probably great at a party or in a noisy bar with distractions, or when the ranting is neutralized, and muffled by an occasional breeze on a long route. ; ) It's all good....

I'm betting if someone handed out a niceness award, rather than a asshole award, Kirra and Gidget would tie for first. They never seem to be in fights and only try to break them up.

Just one of a few thoughts after reading this.

haha, well I don't know anyone so I try to make little to no assumptions, and although I am mostly a placid person, I'm sure I could let me ego get away from me online as well. Sometimes its just to easy to talk a big talk when all your talking to is a screen name on a web forum instead of a person on a street corner or in a bar....

I think my complete lack of skill for the most part helps to keep me humble, its kind of hard talking shit to someone when I'm not sure I could make it up a 5.5
