More fat, less muscle...

That's me since I've last climbed. I put on a pair of climbing shoes for the first time in 7 years today and hit some local man-made boulders.

I am originally from Michigan, was heavy into climbing 10+ years ago in college, was a solid 5.10 climber, sport lead. Did a little ice climbing here and there. I led trips for CMU's climbing club down to the Red River Gorge and helped run the indoor wall, create routes etc on campus.

Unfortunately I herniated a disc in my back in 2002, had surgery in 2004 and haven't climbed since.

Fast forward to now, finally live in a state (NC) with real rock! Looking to start bouldering where I can and go from there.

Feel free to PM me if anyone from the Raleigh area plans to head somewhere fairly local to do some bouldering, I'd love to tag along :)

Even though I can barely climb anymore I had a blast today and am heading to an indoor gym tomorrow.

Should be fun :)

Coming back from an injury is a bitch. Especially if you have lasting residual problems with it. Hopefully, you can find ways to work around it and get yourself back up the whatever level you're aiming for. God's Speed Dude.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
