Description

Cooke City ice climbs. often form up early. can be extremely avalanche prone. can be buttass cold. quite remote, and mostly within Jellystone National Park.

refer to Joe Josephsons guidebook: Winter Dance

mostly pure ice routes thus far.
expect to ski, or snowshoe to all routes - and break trail.

Cooke City contains several hotel/motels that are open in the winter. they are generally catering to the snowmobile's. there is a gas station, 2 restaurants, one bar, and one liquor store. all generally close up early.

Getting There

several hours south of Bozeman, thru Gardner. or snow machine north outta WY.
