DescriptionMongoose Block is the largest and arguably the best boulder in the Snake Pit. This perfect, bullet sandstone block features many easy to moderate routes with mostly flat, sandy landings. Sit down starts can be added to almost any problem for a grade boost, but its two overhanging aretes are fun at any grade. Getting ThereTo find Mongoose Block, park at the South Parking Lot and hike north on the Ute Trail that lies just east of the road. Hike a couple hundred meters, and Mongoose is the large, chalked-up boulder on your left.
