(Moby Dick V6)
Short but packs a punch!

Description

Many of these boulders are south facing getting plenty of sun. The rock quality is variable but for the most part good. There are two excellent V6's worth doing as well as many other quality routes. Moby Dick and Black and Blue are the must do's.

Getting There

When you turn onto the right fork go down 3.7 miles to a dirt pull out on the east side of the road.

Black and Blue. Skins Game V3/4 goes up the pockets and crimps on the face.

Black and Blue V6  UT : Joe's Valley : ... : Lower Hillside
Start with your feet on the huge shelf under the roof and your hands on the crimp rail and/or pocket. Move through a sharp, bunchy, and dynamic crux to jugs for the topout. Be super careful of the last jug on the top of the boulder, it's very fragile. I recommend a beached whale or maybe a left exit. You must avoid pulling much at all on this hold....[more]   Browse More Classics in UT

CONDITION REPORT

I've consolidated all of these problems into the Lower Hillside Area as per tcamilleri.

This route should be reposted under the hillside area. This is not its own independent area.

Moby Dick is a boulder problem named after an area hosting many quality climbs. Which is what I described sorry for any confusion.

Yes, but this area is not known as the Moby Dick Area by anyone. Its part of the Lower Hillside area that includes Team Effort and Hooters (which are about 50 yards away), I don't think this warrants its own area.

Jeff Baldwin and I put up over 15 problems here that didn't go in the Black Bible.
A cool V2 to the right of Roadside Attraction, 2 to the right of the corner there.
2 to the left of Team Effort.
2 to the right of Team Effort.
A bunch more on the other boulders, I can't remember all the names, but Baldwin has them all written down.
