Description

Classic? You may doubt this, but yes. It is. Go try it. Mike found and cleaned this beautiful line. A sit start on crimps, an overhanging face with a discontinuous crack, and a scary topout. What more could a Devil's Lake boulderer ask for?

Location

Find the Raccoon problems. Go uphill about 100 yards, to the top of the little talus field. You cannot miss it.

If on the trail: park at the upper Smooth Operator parking about half way down the road to the north park enterence. Hike down the trail about half way to the lake, when you see the cube boulder, cut right into the talus/woods, and go straight up about 300 yards. See photo.

Protection

Pads and spotters are preferable.

Thanks for posting this Chris and it should be noted that Chris was the first of us to man up and get this done. This is a great problem, albeit a bit scary. The block jug on the top shifts when you pop to it, but we tried to kick it out and are pretty sure it is stuck in there for good. This definitely adds a bit to the scare factor.

A slight correction to the directions beta. The problem is actually directly above the Raccoon boulder, not the Weasel.

Ah right on Mike. This area is a little confusing to me, so glad to get a little tour from you and Ian, thanks. Changed the directions.

And yeah, should have mentioned the scary block at the lip. Defintely want 2-3 pads and a good spotter. This was a fantastic find and a really fun problem. I have video of Mike prior to his send. Will post a link.
