Description

Two separate crags make up the Wolf Ridge area - Wolf Lake (Johnson Lake) Set and Mystical Mountain Zone. Both fall on private land but are open for climbing as long as you register at the office first. The climbs at Mystical Mountain are tall and require a top belay if top roping and full length ropes to rap off.
Despite the fact that this area is used by the ELC and boy scout troops, there are seldom crowds and it's unusual to run into other parties which makes it a great place to escape the crowds at Palisade Head and Shovel Point.
Chalk use is not permitted here. While it is an ethic elsewhere in the area, Wolf Ridge does not permit it (ie, it's a rule, not an ethic!)

Note, two other areas are within walking distance - Jericho Wall and Thither and Yon. Access is unclear at either of these areas as they are likely on private land that is not owned by Wolf Ridge. You are on your own to get info for these areas.

Getting There

From Finland or Little Marais, follow Lake County Road 6 to the turn off for Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center. Follow the road to the ELC and park in the lot. Register first and they will give you directions to the crags.
