DescriptionIt is surprising to find a place with such high quality ice climbing in Midwest. The two main ice pillars, when in, would be considered great in Ourey's Ice Park. Getting ThereFrom St. Paul, get on MN-36 E towards Stillwater. In downtown Stillwater turn right into E Chestnut St/MN-36, crossing into Wisconsin over the bridge across St Croix River. Continue on WI-64 E for about 2 miles and turn left onto Anderson Scout Camp Rd. At the boulder turn left into Twin Springs Rd. Follow it to the end. When parking ensure the gate or the driveways are not blocked. Maintain low profile and be respectful to local residents. Most awesome WI5 ice line available in Minnesota. The climb has roughly two sections. The lower is a thick pillar of pumpy WI5 ice. The climbing varies depending which side of the pillar is climbed. Little rest is available between the two sections. Second section is a thin smooth pillar leading to the top anchors. Ensure the ice is solid and the pillar isn't detached before climbing this one.
