BETA PHOTO: Whopee Wall - First St. Side

Description

Whopee Wall is generally the first place people climb in Duluth if they only have half an hour and don't like the idea of an approach. Literally on the side of the street, there are about 25 climbs here from 5.4 to 5.11 - including some Duluth classics. Everything here is in the 20 to 35 foot range and could more accuately be called highball bouldering. Watch out for the glass and bums and ignore the spray paint that says 'no climbing'.
UMD, St. Scolastica and other organizations use Whopee Wall for classes and outings and the local AMGA cert. test is held here.
Plenty of cracks on top for TR and a few lines to lead...

Getting There

Found at the corner of First St. West and Piedmont Ave. You can see this from I35 and Superior St. Park on First St.
