Just up-hill from Water Line is a right facing dihedral with a small roof, this is just behind a large tree. Approach from the slab (easy) and belay at the tree. Mineral Maze is a cool problem that entails getting established in the dihedral and solving the roof pull on the right. This is a power move on good hands, and you may try to get some gear in after pulling the lip, however, the slab is just a move away and probably most folks just climb on through. Belay at one of the trees and walk off left. This is a very worthy problem.

Just bring a rope and a couple of draws. While this pitch may be as much as 50 ft of climbing, about all the gear you will get is a pair of bolts in the dihedral.

Unless things have changed since I last did this, these bolts really need to be replaced.

Bolts on Mineral Maze and Water Line are in need of replacement. They are not death traps, but being upgraded to 3/8 would be very rational, and should this be brought up to the FHRC.

It's not necessary to get FHRC approval to replace bolts-simply inform the rangers on the day you are doing it.

An upgrade would entail redrilling the existing hole. Does that change anything?

This baby seemed pretty hard. I may have read it wrong. Really good though. Gear on the slab seem mandatory. A fall would be ugly. Seems harder that Runsholt Schrunch. sp. Both great routes for lower West Ridge. Add in Super Scoop. Old school 11.d in Eldo is awesome. Good day
