| I'm sorry to hear this even though I didn't know Kirk very well at all. I know he was a positive force in the Austin climbing community. Condolences to all that were close to him. | FLAG |

| I barely knew Kirk but I know how much he'll be missed as the Texas climbing community is close knit. Someone introduced me to him as he was setting anchors on News Wall. He was also an admin for TX on MP. Does anyone know more about what happened? That road has more deer running about than any I've ever seen. My condolences to his family and all his friends. | FLAG |

| We don't have much detail as he was alone at the time and there were no witnesses. He had guided that day which was very hot (105F). He left the park at about 4:00 pm heading to his friends place...
His car rolled 3 times, but nobody knows why he went off the road, a road he had driven so many times before. He was probably on his 10th lap of the Earth, driving from Austin to ERock and back.
There will be a lot of climbers at his Thursday gathering in Austin. I am driving down from Colorado and I know many others are traveling to be there.
RIP Kirky, you were a very loved man. Please drive safe everyone. | FLAG |
