About half way up the steeper section of the approach to Higher Solitude, you will pass Lunchbox Rock, which is a large spire formation. When roughing in the trail, I discovered an old timey, rusted lunchbox at the base of the pillar. There are three technical sport routes here. One 5.10, and two 5.11s. If you are struggling with the elevation, stopping to do The Lunch Box 5.10, is a nice way to break up the hike and get some killer views of the Solitude Wall.

Getting There Suggest change

Hike the regular Higher Solitude trail, and that will take you right past the formation.
