Anyone been up to Middle Pal or Norman Clyde Peak recently ? Just curious to know how deep the creek crossing on the S Fork trail is, and how the glacier looks.

Late July of last year we brought ice axe & crampons, but the glacier was so suncupped they were basically unnecessary.

I haven't been up recently but I can guarantee that the South Fork stream crossing is not going to be a problem.

I'm sure the glacier is fully suncupped at this point, it's been quite sunny and warm. Everything else I've seen at near that elevation in the sierras is very packed down. Just bring an axe for when it's slickery early in the morning if you are at all worried.
