Madison Boulder
Description A MASSIVE boulder. Used to have a bolted arete that was very hard but also rather controversial. It was a great climb but just did not fit in the area. Could be bouldered now - nice V5 ? highball. Just superb rock and some super hard stuff to do. The back side usually has a tree limb leaning against it. I'll give that slab 11c.

By Jay Knower Administrator From: Plymouth, NH Mar 16, 2010 Why no bolting? Is this forbidden? FWIW, I checked out this boulder for possible lines. It looked big, but not that impressive for climbing.
By john strand From: southern colo Mar 16, 2010 I think it was/is some kind of state site, not sure. Not many lines to do. The left hand arete was "love child" or something like that. It has some wicked hard micro nubbin stuff that I could not even touch.
By Glenn Cilley From: Laconia, NH Sep 6, 2010 The boulder is a state park and no bolting allowed. The left hand bolt line from the 80's 5.12+ is long been chopped.
