Description

Secluded area with a few nice boulders with mixture of easy and difficult problems. Presently 4 established climbs (5.8, 5.10, 5.11, 5.11+).

There is a nice campsite at base. Please respect the area by packing out your own garbage!

Getting There

NW of Kalispell. Use your Google power to find the road between Kalispell and Whitefish labeled Farm to Market Road. Turn West onto Rhodes Draw Rd. Follow until pavement turn to dirt, and continue until you take a right onto East Mtn. Meadow rd. Once here, reset your Odometer at the Mailboxes, and count for 2.3 miles. There are forks in the road, hopefully the main road is obvious (don't turn onto private/gated roads.)
Turn left to access the Lost Wall. All your wildest bouldering dreams will come true.

CONDITION REPORT
Current update August 2016: "They" are chopping down trees, and the road varies with rubbish/rocks in the road. I drive a low clearance vehicle, and with strategic driving I don't bottom out. If the roads are muddy/wet you WILL bottom out. A truck is recommended.Take Farm to Market to Rhodes Draw, right at Mtn Meadows, Right at east Mtn Meadows, then follow road to a 2 track that continues into the canyon. Climbs are on 2nd major formation - park at big boulders then head up the boulder field.

I will be moving to Whitefish this summer. I do not see much published for the area. Is there a guidebook? I'm just looking for some info on where I can get on some local rock out in MT, because I know it is out there.

Thanks!

jaudenart, it has been a couple years since I last bouldered there. If you show up to lost wall there are a bunch of boulders with many obvious lines. Ratings of established stuff felt about V0-V7, but there may be more new problems. As far as I know there isn't much official info on problem names, grades, etc., but it is a fun area and well worth a visit.

This area offers V0-V8+ to project (in my opinion). Located at the base of a stellar trad climb; 5.8/ 5.9. Quality rock, and lots of fun. Go find it for yourself, or contact me for a tour!

Between Kalispell and Whitefish: Get on Farm to Market Road
Turn West onto Rhodes Draw
Follow for a while (a mile or 2, and it'll turn to dirt. Turn right onto East Mtn Meadow).
At East Mtn. Meadows, Reset odometer at Mailboxes and follow road for 2.3 miles.
There will be forks in the road, but they lead to dead ends/private property, Don't be fooled, stay on main road.
Turn left 2.3 miles down the road, and all your wildest dreams will come true!

I've added some of my favorite boulder problems, but there is much more to be had at this area!
